Disaster Duck beta
November 10th.
That's the day we started the game design document for Disaster Duck. 2 weeks later and we released the first beta for the game! Crazy!
This is the first game that we have ever finished, and we are super hyped right now! We know it's not much of a game, but our goal was to learn and finish a game we started making. That alone is a worthy goal because I have dozens and dozens of projects that were started but never finished. Do you have a game that you wanted to make but it's been placed by the wayside? Go make it!
One thing that hurt us for the unfinished projects was over-scope (also known as feature creep). Scope is the breadth and depth of your game, how much of this, and a feature of that, etc. Keeping scope as limited as possible is what kept this game in production and finally completed. If we implemented half of the desired features and cools-stuff we wanted to do, it would have taken many months to finish, and then probably would have wasted away as another project that never took off.
