The Duck and the hiatus
The most common reason for ideas and projects to get pushed to the side (at least for me) is, new ideas and projects! I'm sure other solo-devs can speak to the never-ending flow of ideas and the desires to see these ideas come to life, only to see previous ideas get pushed aside for whatever new one just came through. It's probably easier to remain on-task as a group, but it's just me at the whims of my brain. So I leave you with this update that could be the last for some time.
Some games have done this in the past; represent their protagonist in a way that was either difficult or couldn't be done well the game engine. Doom is the most prominent one that comes to my mind, their protagonist is displayed in the center of the HUD and as he gets hurt or gets power ups, the icon and animation will change.
This is what we wanted for Disaster Duck 2, so we re-created his image from Disaster Duck 1 to show him in the cockpit. He has idle animation, attacking animation and animation that happens when he gets low on health.
Until next time, thanks for reading!
